This is
our another Project! In this project, I listened to Nicole KIDMAN’s interview
with Mark Lawson on BBC radio and now I would like to share it with you!
In Rabbit Hole, Nicole Kidman plays a grieving mother and her performance earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Leading Actress. In a rare interview, she discussed the emotional sides of her role with Mark Lawson on BBC radio 4, 27 January 2011.
At the beginning
of the interview, Mark Lawson firstly states that parents had to deal with the
grief in the film as their child died and asks whether it is disturbing for her
or not. She says she was really disturbed on such a deep level and it was
walking thorough something probably one of her biggest fears but there was also
an enormous hope in the film.
When we think
about the film, there are some difficult stages to play and she says that
actors are educated with great scenes in acting schools but most of the films conflict
with what they learn as they play their roles sometimes in dark places and in
more difficult conditions, particularly for a woman. However, they get
experienced and learn much more things in this way.
She accepts in
some parts of her roles there is something that she says “I shouldn’t have done
this” but she also says this is part of being an actor as they are spontaneous
and she is also rapid.
As an Australian
actor, she says she has difficulty in doing American accent while she says
English accent is far easier for her but she also states that she started doing
accent when she was 16, as it is required for all actors.
If I were
the interviewer, I would ask;
1. What would you want to be if you were
not an actress?
2. Do you think that the roles you play
affect your life?
Pictures were taken from here!
